Arequipa – Colca Canyon Tour Mission Trip

Departure from your airport of origin in the United States. Take note that your destination is Jorge Chavez International Airport (airport code: LIM) in Lima city, the capital of Peru. Your most likely arrival times are flights that will have you landing in Lima on the same day late at night or within the first hours of the following day. This way, the layover waiting time for your next local flight is short. After the debarkation process, you will be cleared from immigration and customs in about half an hour (or maybe even less). Stay in inside Lima airport and wait for your domestic flight to Arequipa City. Your new destination is Alfredo Rodriguez Ballón International Airport (Airport Code: AQP) in Arequipa city. Your local flight has been purchased in advance and your reservation is ready with the name you provided.

It’s a new day! You have arrived to Peru. Domestic flights to Arequipa from Lima last about one hour and a half, and they start departing as early as 5 in the morning. Remember that you should start the check in process for your domestic flight to Arequipa at least 2 hours before your departure time, so head yourself to the appropriate counter the soonest. You’ll arrive to beautiful Arequipa City during the early morning hours, your private transportation service will be waiting at the airport to take you to your hotel. After a refreshing shower and getting well-settled in, we will offer you a welcome breakfast. Following this, we will get ready to begin our mission and head out to start our first day of adjusting. Depending on every mission trip, arrangements will be made with religious communities, government organizations, local municipalities, public schools among others to organize our adjusting activities. Lunch will be served on adjusting premises, after spending the afternoon putting chiropractic to the service of the community, we will enjoy dinner either at the adjusting site or we could head to a typical restaurant. Then we will make our way back to the hotel for an early, comforting and alleviating good night’s sleep.

It is the second day of adjusting, it will be another exiting day of liberating the nervous system of Arequipa's people by means of the amazing chiropractic adjustment. We will start the day with an energizing breakfast, at the adjusting site lunch will be provided. At night, for dinner, we will treat you with varied dishe at a local restaurants. After dinner, we will visit Yanahuara’s traditional Church and View Point, a prime touristic site in Arequipa that was built in a “mestizo-baroque” style and located at Yanahuara’s gorgeous main square where we will have a relaxing time, enjoying Arequipa’s beautiful night sights, all for a perfect end of a service day. After this experience, we will head back to the hotel to rest and make preparations for an early start the next morning as we’ll be visiting the amazing Colca Valley and Canyon.

It is day three of adjusting, wake up time will be at 2 am. We'll board our private transportation and head on a 3-hour trip towards the Colca valley, located in the Caylloma province. We'll arrive at Chivay town at 6am and have breakfast. Then, we will continue towards the site known as “cruz del condor”; a multi-level terrace view point that will allow us to observe the majestic flight of the condor. On the way to this location, we will be taking a few stops to admire the breathtaking sights of Colca valley. Thereafter, we will return to Chivay where lunch will be served. After lunch we will immediatelly prepare to participate in the activity that has been previously coordinated with the local municipality where we will be delivering liberating adjustments to the Chivay community. Once back in Arequipa in the late afternoon, you will be free to dine on your own at any of the tasty and varied local restaurant. For the travelers participating in the Peru's “Project” mission trip, The Colca tour is NOT part of this mission therefore this will be a regular adjusting day in Arequipa city. Instead, later at night we will head to celebrate the New Year's Eve at a local private club our way, the chiropractic way (your entrance fee is covered).

This day, the wake up time will be at 7 am. Breakfast will be served in the hotel. Right after, we will board a private transportation vehicle to participate of the “Arequipa City Tour” which will take us to visit prime touristic locations on an entertaining itinerary where you will be able to admire the city and its live community, the gorgeous local architecture, and stop at view points and attractions that will leave in you an everlasting awe of the beautiful and “white city” of Arequipa. Depending on the time of the year and the availability at each touristic site, Colca Mission Trips will contract either the tour mentioned before or an alternate one from the following options: “The Path of Sillar (Sillar Quarry) and the Añashuayco Ravine Tour”, “The Capua Waterfalls at traditional town of Yura Tour”, “Toro Muerto Petroglyphs Tour”, “Wildlife of National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas Lagoon (Salt Flats) Tour”, etc. These tours and many others are designed for you to spend most of the morning hours, you will contemplate astonishing architecture and natural sceneries as well as participate on trekking activities (most of the tours involve trekking), be prepared. Lunch will be provided at the respective site we will be visiting (this will be our last culinary treat in Arequipa). After these activities, we will depart towards our hotel. We’ll arrive at the hotel in the early afternoon and immediately after we will start getting our belongings ready to be transported soon after to the airport to board our domestic flight to Lima. Again, your tickets will be ready with your name at this point. We’ll arrive at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima late at night, the arrival time has been arranged according to your international departure time so you don’t have to wait for too long for your connecting flight. However, you should still expect to spend a few hours of layover.

It is the early hours of a new day at Lima airport. During this day, if you haven’t done so during the late hours of the night before, you will be departing towards the US. At this stage, you shouldn’t leave the airport for any reason and wait inside for your international flight. Airline operators expect to start processing passengers 3 hours before the departure time of an international flight so you should be ready to start the check in process accordingly to avoid delays.
